Shelf-Life Testing:  For initial shelf-life testing we recommend FTIR/FTNIR analysis in conjunction with a full microbial screen. Once the nutritional labeling is done, the potency of each component doesn't necessarily need to be validated during the accelerated incubator initial shelf-life test. The real question is whether the product retains its basic overall potency. The FTIR/FTNIR scan gives valid evidence that supports this, without the cost of repeated HPLC scans for each component.
